After not picking up the camera for quite some time (a dry spell from photography), I decided to start taking photos again bringing the camera to a family friend’s house deep in Bukidnon. The place we went to was a farm. To put it more accurately, it would be more of a “Hey, now I’ve built a big house… but I still have 10 hectares of land left… I’ll build a farm beside my house” kind of thing. So in that farm, there’s this flower garden but not just any flower garden. It’s a flower garden built on a terrace almost like the one’s in Banaue only much steeper.
After snapping many photos of flowers and insects with the macro, this photograph actually turned out to be my favorite. It’s obviously out of focus, the depth of field at f/2.8 was so limiting, the sun was running out, and the slow breeze was causing the plant holding the berry to sway back and forth. It was a good thing I did not delete it right away as I have a habit of deleting off focus photographs then and there. If I did delete this photograph, I’d be sad (hmm, there’s a paradox to this but nevermind).
Anyway, I love how this photo turned out to be. Obviously out of focus but because of that, it gave it that pastel/oil painting kind of look. It’s one of the accidental shots that turned out not so bad.

This was taken during the championship bonfire earlier October. Parokya ni Edgar was playing when suddenly Rico Blanco came up stage and performed as well. Here in this photo we see him giving a high five the the drummer of Parokya. It’s kinda sayang how I could have taken the photo from a higher angle allowing a full portrait of Rico Blanco to be taken while the high five-ing hands mask his face. But I also like how the photo provides a mask leaving only that cold look.

I know the basketball photographs from the Championship are way long overdue but I feel obligated to at least post some.
This photo above is probably my favorite among the many. When shooting sports like basketball or football, I was told to make sure that the face of the player and the object of interest should be present in the photo (in this case, the basketball). So I’ve disobeyed two rules making this photograph not sports worthy. Nonetheless, I just love how the outlines of Salva and Ravena seemingly arc each other as Salva screens an opponent allowing Ravena to cross over.

This has to be one of my favorite shots among the plenty I’ve snapped.
